Dr. Andrea Molinari from Ecuador has joined VHI to not only perform dozens of life changing surgeries, but to teach local doctors how to identify, treat, and operate on strabismus.

2015 Eye Mission to the Dominican Republic
VHI is announcing a return eye mission to the Dominican Republic in 2015. This trip will provide much needed vision health care to underserved patients in the western region of the DR.
Strabismus surgery can help improve visual acuity. Yet it is not like cataracts where vision is restored. Its stigma can make people think someone with strabismus is less competent.
VHI has conducted one-week field programs in Piura every year since 2005. Piura is a vibrant commercial city in the coastal/desert region of northwestern Peru.

VHI is delighted to be returning Ecuador. Trips wil focus on developing an ongoing comprehensive pediatric ophthalmology program. We expect to perform 50–60 adult and pediatric surgical procedures. A team will also travel to various schools to screen and evaluate 200–300 students each day.
