VHI is seeking to partner with another organization to strengthen our shared goals and mission in the delivery of medical services to the poor and underserved populations throughout Latin America.
VHI is a non-profit, 501(c)(3), volunteer organization dedicated to the delivery of vision health care services and surgery—free of charge—to medically underserved adults and children in Latin America. Since 1985, VHI has provided nearly 23,000 eye exams, dispensed over 20,000 pairs of eyeglasses, conducted 23 seminars, and performed close to 6,000 surgeries over 52 field programs in 8 Latin American countries, including: Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, and Peru. VHI volunteers pay their own expenses, including airfare and a portion of their meals and lodging during each one-week field program. Pharmaceutical and medical supply companies donate 85-90% of the surgical supplies required on each trip.
VHI is seeking a part-time (10-20 hours per week) Chief Program Officer (CPO). VHI is considering applicants for a job-share with another 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, through which, VHI would contribute up to 50% of the FTE. See job description.
If your organization shares a similar mission and goals, could be an ideal partner, please contact Nicole Fedoravicius, MPH, Executive Director.
