Wanted: Medical Volunteers

January 17-24, 2015 (Eyeglass distribution and surgical screening)
February 21-28, 2015 (Cataract surgery)

Vision Health International is announcing a return eye mission to the Dominican Republic in 2015. These trips to the DR are sponsored by the Archdiocese of Orlando and will provide  much needed vision health care to underserved patients in the western region of the DR.

The eyeglass distribution and surgical screening team will travel the mountainous regions of western DR screening patients in local churches, schools, and community centers. Cataract surgery will be performed in San Juan de la Maguana. We are recruiting interested and qualified opticians, optometrists, ophthalmologists, surgical technologists, circulating nurses, and PACU nurses.

To learn more about VHI or to inquire about participating on the upcoming trips to the Dominican Republic, contact trip coordinator Annina Griggs RN/VHI board member at aagriggs@yahoo.com.

A limited number of scholarships for qualified nurses and surgical technologists will be available for the Dominican Republic programs.

Want to help support VHI’s two programs to the Dominican Republic? Please consider making a tax-deductible donation.

You may designate your donation to one of the following:
